My name is Carol (she/her/siya) and I am a second generation pinay, descendent of powerful Filipina healers. I am a writer, mother, and seeker of our collective Liberation. The heart of Indigenous Filipino values is Kapwa: the understanding that I am you and you are me. I believe deeply that social justice without spirituality is burnout and overwhelm; while spirituality without social justice is toxic positivity that does not recognize the interconnected nature of our human experience. I am here because I believe all collective healing begins with inner healing, that we must fill up our cups in order to give fully and authentically to the world around us. Revelation Breathwork has helped me fill up my cup in ways that have allowed me to grow into a fuller expression of who I really am: Love incarnate, Love made flesh. Facilitating and being in community with Revelation Breathwork has helped me deepen my understanding of the wisdom Audre Lorde shares with us:
"Without community, there is no liberation, but liberation must not mean a shedding of our differences, nor the pathetic pretense that our differences do not exist."
I know so much of who I am can seem heavy! So I am careful to intentionally balance this in my life -- I'm also an improv comedian and I'm married to a professional magician who constantly reminds me that no matter where we are on the journey, there is space and room to find magic!
Love,
Carol
