Facilitator Training

FAQs

+ Can I pick and choose which Modules I want to take? If I only want to do Module 1, but not the rest of the training, is that an option?

The short answer is no. Students must sign up for the entire program.

In the previous training model, we allowed people to take the modules a la carte, meaning they could just take Module 1 and that’s it. Or they could take Module 1 and Module 2, but not continue onto Module 3.

After teaching this training for 5+ years, we have found that the education and training is much more impactful and comprehensive when all 3 modules are included. This training is so much more than information; it’s about practice and personal transformation. We have designed this 4 month program to be an energetic container for taking the time to learn and practice the breathwork and facilitator skills required for a path to mastery and not just adequacy. We’ve seen profound transformations in past students who have taken all 3 modules and deepened in their own healing while they honed their facilitation skills.

+ Is this training all online? Is there an in-person component?

We have been teaching online since March of 2020 and we were surprised at how well this training translates to an online experience. We have students from all over the world joining, some getting up at 2am! And several students always remark how quickly the time passes despite the world of “Zoom overkill” we live in now.

There are some unique advantages to doing the training online. I personally think it’s easier to go from learning online to then facilitating in-person, versus the other way around (learning in-person and then trying to figure out how to facilitate online).

You quickly learn that less is more. When we are in-person, we tend to think we need to do more as a facilitator. We think we need to incorporate touch into the session because if they are just laying and breathing, there must be more we can do as a facilitator, right? Our approach is powerfully simple - the breath does the work. So facilitating online forces you to trust more, and to heighten your intuitive senses.

You will gain confidence quickly that you can facilitate anyone anywhere in the world through Zoom. This is an amazing gift to be able to offer this work worldwide!

Many people prefer the comfort, familiarity, and safety of breathing in their own space. For some, it’s too vulnerable to be in-person or to breathe, scream, and emote with strangers. Learning online will provide you with this option to serve this community of people with confidence.

With that said, we are considering offering an in-person training and/or retreats in 2023.

+ What is the origin of Revelation Breathwork?

I think it's important to explain the difference between the term ‘breathwork’ and Revelation Breathwork. The term 'breathwork' is like the term 'meditation.' It's a large general term that includes so many different techniques within it.

Just as there are many different types of meditation, there are also many different breathing techniques that would qualify as ‘breathwork.’ Some of the more well-known forms of ‘breathwork’ are the pranayamas in yoga, the Wim Hof Method, and Holotropic Breathwork.

Revelation Breathwork is focused on one specific technique that is inspired by Dirgha Pranayama, which is also called the three-step breath. We are calling this process ‘Revelation Breathwork’ because of the experience we’ve had doing this powerful work. It is one of revelation - where mystical experiences and inner knowings are commonplace.

What distinguishes Revelation Breathwork is the intentionality of the process, as well as the structured process in a session. This includes a centering prayer at the beginning, a curated kick-ass musical journey, a primal scream release, and inner child healing work at the end.

I was trained in this specific three-step breathing technique by David Elliot. However, how we structure and lead a session or class is unique to our approach. Apart from the actual breathing technique, our approach to healing work and the other influences, trainings, practices, certifications, & degrees Maura and I bring to this work are separate from what I learned from David.

+ I already have an existing healing practice. Can I incorporate this breathwork into my existing offerings?

Absolutely! This work and what you will learn can stand alone as its own offering. We have many facilitators that offer just Revelation Breathwork and a single session can change someone’s entire life.

We have other grads of our trainings that are therapists, counselors, coaches, acupuncturists, body workers, naturopaths, other healing professionals that incorporate this work into their existing offers. As coaches ourselves, we find mixing in the powerful embodiment practice of Revelation Breathwork can cut to the core of deep issues or disrupt cyclical negative thinking that “talk therapy,” mindset work alone, or strategizing just can’t access.

In addition to healing professionals, we’ve had a wide variety of people come through our training who are primarily interested in their own personal spiritual practice or want to have this as an option to use with family and friends. All kinds of people from professional athletes, chefs, comedians, SWAT officers, entrepreneurs, teachers, office managers, lawyers, doctors, homemakers, actors, graphic designers, accountants, engineers, leadership consultants, photographers, parents, copywriters, marketers, and more. If you are a human being, this training will transform you.

+ Can you explain what is happening in the body during Revelation Breathwork?

There is A LOT happening! And we do a deep dive in the training. We focus on the nervous system, neurology, the diaphragm, the vagus nerve, and much more. Maura’s education, training, and experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic brings a real understanding and practical knowledge of the physiology of this work.

And with that said, here’s a short and simple version: The active breath in Revelation Breathwork is performed in and out through the mouth. This activates our sympathetic nervous system - the "fight, flight, freeze, or fawn" response. Normally, most breathing techniques aim to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, the "rest and digest" response. However, the key here is our intention as the breather, and a feeling of safety. In a safe space, when our sympathetic is activated, our body has the opportunity to release all of the stored trauma, stress, and other heavy emotions in our body. This is why this can be such an emotional experience. The cool thing is that when we don't have much stored emotional energy, we can access higher states of consciousness and receive inspired ideas and states of ecstasy. Healing doesn't always have to be a big, emotional experience. It can actually be very joyful.

+ Will the training weekends and seminars be recorded?

Yes! All of the weekend trainings and seminars will be recorded and made available within 48 hours. Despite this convenience, we strongly recommend that you attend all events live. Your learning and training will be far greater than if you plan on a self-study method. There is so much benefit to being in the energetic container of the trainings and with the other students.

+ Do I have to wait until I am certified before I can start facilitating sessions and charging others?

No! You can start facilitating 1:1 breathwork healing sessions immediately upon completing Module 1. And we encourage you to get as much practice as you can to gain experience and confidence. There is a minimum requirement of 25 private sessions in order to receive your certification. This is an average of 2 sessions per week during the course of the 4 month training. You will have plenty of opportunities for practice with the other students. We also have a requirement of 6 group or class sessions for certification. We recommend people wait until they have completed the Module 2 training before they start facilitating groups.

+ Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes. Payment options are a one-time investment of $4,997 or three (3) equal payments of $1750. You can choose which option when you register for the program.

Click here to access the replay of a Q&A we did where we talk in depth about the training and how it will prepare you.

+ What is your refund and cancellation policy?

This purchase is non-refundable. If you decide that you can't participate in the training dates that you signed up for, you must notify us within 7 days of the start of the training and you will receive a credit towards a future training that must be used within 1 year. If you notify us in less than 7 days before the start of the training, you forfeit your credit. In addition, a requirement to get certified is mandatory attendance at all live weekends. If you miss 1 day or more of a live weekend training Module, you will need to pay a $250 fee and make up that weekend in a future training (of a similar type, meaning online or in-person) within 1 year.

+ Is this training only for coaches, yoga and meditation teachers, therapists and healers?

No! It's for for anybody who's ready to deepen in their own heaing, who feels called, who desires to live an authentic life from their heartspace, and who desires to facilitate 1:1 breathwork healing sessions or group classes.

The next live Q&A is TBD.
