Revelation Breathwork® Code of Ethics
Revelation Breathwork® stands for Truth, Love, and Service.
We have adopted this Code of Ethics to guide Revelation Breathwork® facilitators in providing the highest quality of service and in creating spaces that support the safety, dignity, healing, and well-being of participants.
Revelation Breathwork® facilitators recognize their ethical responsibility to maintain appropriate standards of conduct and care, support the welfare of their clients, and protect the integrity of the Revelation Breathwork® community and practice.
Facilitators are also encouraged to offer respectful feedback to other Revelation Breathwork® facilitators when they believe another facilitator may not be honoring these agreements.
As part of Revelation Breathwork® Facilitator Certification, all facilitators are required to read, agree to, and abide by this Code of Ethics.
Continuing Authorization to Use the Revelation Breathwork® Name
Compliance with this Code of Ethics is a continuing condition of a facilitator's authorization and license to use the Revelation Breathwork® name, trademarks, and related brand identifiers.
Authorization to use the Revelation Breathwork® name is limited, conditional, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable.
Revelation Consulting, Inc. may suspend, restrict, or revoke a facilitator's authorization and license to use the Revelation Breathwork® name, trademarks, logos, or other licensed brand identifiers at any time, with or without cause, in its sole discretion.
Revocation of authorization does not change the historical fact that an individual completed a particular Revelation Breathwork® training or certification program. However, following suspension or revocation, that individual may no longer represent themselves as currently authorized by Revelation Consulting, Inc. or offer services using the Revelation Breathwork® name.
1. Scope of Expertise
I will represent myself and act only within the bounds of my experience and competence. I will not misrepresent my experience, training, credentials, understanding, or abilities to clients, prospective clients, or the public, including through advertising, websites, promotional materials, or social media.
I will communicate honestly and truthfully about my training, experience, and competency in this work.
When a client requires support or care beyond my training or level of competence, I will encourage or provide an appropriate referral when reasonably possible.
2. Confidentiality
I understand that respecting confidentiality is important to the emotional, psychological, and interpersonal safety of clients and participants.
a. Client Information
I will not disclose information shared with me privately by a client unless the client has provided permission, disclosure is required by applicable law, or another recognized legal exception applies.
I will comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding confidentiality, privacy, reporting obligations, and recordkeeping, as well as any additional ethical standards applicable to professional licenses or organizations with which I am affiliated.
b. Legal and Professional Requirements
Facilitators understand that confidentiality obligations and exceptions may vary depending on jurisdiction, professional licensure, the age of the participant, and the circumstances involved.
Facilitators are responsible for understanding the laws and professional requirements that apply to their own work and location.
c. Protecting Confidential Information
I will take reasonable steps to protect confidential information belonging to clients and prospective clients and to limit unauthorized access to that information.
d. Group Confidentiality
When working with groups, I will explain the importance of respecting the privacy and confidentiality of other participants and ask group members to honor that agreement.
I will also make clear that, because other participants are independent individuals, confidentiality within a group setting cannot be absolutely guaranteed.
3. Non-Discrimination
I will treat clients, prospective clients, participants, and colleagues with dignity and respect.
I will remain mindful of cultural, individual, and role differences and strive to provide services without unlawful discrimination based on characteristics protected by applicable law, including age, gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or socioeconomic status.
4. Business Integrity
I will conduct myself professionally, honestly, courteously, and respectfully.
I will make reasonable efforts to honor agreements and appointments with clients and will clearly communicate my policies concerning pricing, payments, cancellations, scheduling, and other important aspects of the client relationship.
5. Safety
I will make reasonable efforts to create an environment that supports participant safety.
This begins with respecting the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual sovereignty of each participant.
I will remain mindful of the physical environment in which sessions take place and will seek to create an experience in which participants are treated with dignity and are not intentionally threatened, intimidated, coerced, or placed in unreasonable danger.
6. Continued Learning
I am committed to continuing to develop my knowledge, skills, self-awareness, and competency as a Revelation Breathwork® facilitator.
Continued learning may include educational opportunities offered by Revelation Breathwork®, participation in the Revelation Breathwork® facilitator community, supervision or mentoring, relevant professional development, personal growth work, books, courses, or other training that supports competent and ethical facilitation.
7. Integrity of Information
I understand that my role as a facilitator may also include educating clients and participants.
I will make reasonable efforts to present information accurately and cite sources when appropriate.
I will not knowingly make false, deceptive, fraudulent, or materially misleading public statements regarding Revelation Breathwork®, my services, my qualifications, or the potential benefits or outcomes of this work.
8. Notice of Health Considerations and Informed Consent
I agree to clearly communicate the known health considerations, precautions, and material risks associated with Revelation Breathwork® before a participant begins a session.
I will use language that is reasonably understandable and will obtain appropriate consent from participants before they participate.
I will use the current Revelation Breathwork® participant waiver, health disclosures, safety materials, or other forms required by Revelation Consulting, Inc. when applicable.
9. Sexual Conduct and Professional Boundaries
I will not initiate, invite, encourage, project, respond to, or engage in sexual contact or sexualized conduct with a client in the context of the facilitator-client relationship.
- I will establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries and respect the rights and dignity of those I serve.
- I will not use the facilitator-client relationship to exploit, manipulate, coerce, or improperly exercise power over a participant.
- These standards apply even if sexual or romantic behavior is initiated or invited by a client during the professional relationship.
- Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual behavior, or sexual touching by a facilitator is prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or revocation of authorization to use the Revelation Breathwork® name, in addition to any consequences required by applicable law.
10. Non-Sexual Touch
a. Informed Consent
I will obtain informed consent before using touch-related techniques during a Revelation Breathwork® session.
Whenever reasonably possible, consent should be discussed before breathing begins. The participant should understand the nature and purpose of the proposed touch and should feel free to decline.
Written documentation of consent is strongly encouraged when appropriate.
b. Appropriate Use of Touch
Touch is not a required component of Revelation Breathwork®.
When touch is used, it should be limited, appropriate, consensual, and supportive of the participant's experience.
Examples may include appropriate support involving the hands when a participant experiences uncomfortable hand cramping or tetany, or appropriate grounding support involving the feet or ankles.
If essential oils or other topical substances are used, I will explain their intended use and location and obtain consent before application.
c. Other Professional Modalities
Some Revelation Breathwork® facilitators may also have professional training in modalities involving touch, such as massage, craniosacral therapy, Reiki, psychotherapy, acupuncture, bodywork, or other healing practices.
When integrating another modality, facilitators must comply with all laws, licensing requirements, professional standards, consent requirements, and ethical rules governing that modality, as well as this Code of Ethics.
d. Individual Considerations
I will consider whether touch is appropriate for each participant based on the circumstances, including the participant's ability to provide meaningful consent, personal history, stated preferences, current emotional state, and ability to comfortably integrate the experience.
e. Withdrawal of Consent
I understand that consent is ongoing and may be withdrawn at any time.
I will respect a participant's request to stop or modify touch immediately and will remain attentive to verbal and nonverbal indications that continued touch may no longer be welcome or appropriate.
11. Personal Support and Self-Awareness
I will seek appropriate support for personal problems, conflicts, circumstances, or impairments that may materially interfere with my ability to provide responsible and ethical service.
I am committed to developing awareness of my own beliefs, biases, intentions, needs, emotional patterns, and unresolved issues and to considering how they may affect the people I serve.
Facilitator Acknowledgment
By accepting certification and/or exercising authorization to facilitate services using the Revelation Breathwork® name, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Code of Ethics and Facilitator Standards.
I understand that compliance with this Code is an ongoing condition of my authorization to use the Revelation Breathwork® name and related trademarks and brand identifiers.
I understand that Revelation Consulting, Inc. may suspend, restrict, or revoke that authorization at any time, with or without cause, in its sole discretion.
